Joyce Parker Patty, 67, of the 200 block of Edwards Avenue, passed away Tuesday, April 29, 2003.

Born in Nansemond County, she had been a lifelong Suffolk resident.

A homemaker, she was a member of Southside Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Sue Goodman Parker and Seth Parker; a brother, Edward Louis Parker; and a sister, Marjorie P. Cook.

She will be sadly missed by her loving husband of 48 years, James Kenneth Patty; two daughters, Terri P. Crumpler, and husband, John, and Susan P. Rawls, and husband, Rick; her beloved grandson, John Robert Crumpler III, all of Suffolk; four sisters, Virginia P. Williams of Suffolk; Elizabeth P. Parker of Como, N.C.; Hazel P. Evans of Suffolk; and Ola P. Drewry of Franklin; two brothers, John T. Parker Sr. and Harold G. Parker of Suffolk; and many nieces and nephews.

The funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Friday in the Sidney F. Harrell Chapel of Harrell and Hill Funeral Home by the Rev. Jonathan Palmer. Burial will follow in Holly Lawn Cemetery, Suffolk.

Friends may join the family from 7-8 p.m. Thursday, and at the residence at other times and following the burial.
