E. Karen Gunter of the Pruden Center for Industry and Technology has been named the 2002-2003 Teacher of the Year in Suffolk. She and other teachers were feted at a banquet Monday night in King’s Fork Middle School. Ella Ward, Ed.D., of the Virginia Board of Education, was the guest speaker for the occasion. Other honorees were: Amber Estep, Jessica Mayfield, Suzanne Johnson, Frances Robb, Sadie Faulk, Rosemary Klare, Elizabeth Viser, Celia Moore, Christine Lafferty, Anne McCoy, Zachelle Savage, LuAnne LaPoint, Maryland Roberts, Valerie Walton, Hope Hoggard, Katherine Queen, Elke Boone, Robert Brennan, Daketa Sawyer.
