Suffolk man found guilty of first-degree murder

A jury found a Suffolk man guilty of six felony charges, including first-degree murder, on Wednesday.
Eric A. Harden, 21, was convicted in the Sept. 7 murder of Shawn White. According to testimony, Harden shot White four times as he was attempting to rob him and another man on a downtown Suffolk street.
In addition to the first-degree murder charge, Hardy was found guilty of using a firearm to commit a murder, two counts of attempted robbery and two counts of using a firearm in an attempted robbery.
The jury recommended that Harden receive the maximum sentence – life plus 33 years -for his crimes.
Circuit Court Westbrook J. Parker ordered a pre-sentencing report and is slated to sentence Harden on July 24.
