St. Mary’s Parish getting new priest this June

Members of St. Mary Parish in Suffolk have been assigned a new pastor, according to an announcement by Bishop Walter F. Sullivan, bishop of the Catholic Diocese of Richmond.
As part of the annual priest and parish reassignment, the Rev. Louis Ruoff, pastor of St. John Parish, Waynesboro, will become pastor of St. Mary.
The Rev. Joseph Slattery, pastor of St. Mary and Good Shepherd parishes in Suffolk and Smithfield, respectively, has been assigned to the faculty of St. Charles Lwanga Seminary in Windhoek, the capital of Namibia, Africa.
The assignments are effective June 2.
