James A. Colbert

James A. Colbert of 4400 Bruce Farm Drive, Suffolk, died Thursday, June 12, 2003, at his residence.
A native of Southampton County, he was a son of the late Henry Colbert and Virgie Clary-Colbert, and the widow of Ruth E. Colbert.
He had retired as a truck driver for the Virginia Department of Transportation.
He was a member of Sixth Street Baptist Church, and a former member of Ebenezer Baptist Church, Ivor.
He is survived by his son, Webster Leon Colbert, devoted daughter-in-law, Sandra Colbert of Suffolk; brother, Charlie Colbert of Zuni; three grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends; and a devoted friend, Doris Wilson.
The funeral will be held at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, June 17, in Sixth Street Baptist Church by the Rev. James B. Williams. Interment will be in Carver Memorial Cemetery.
The body will be placed in the church at noon Tuesday.
Crocker Funeral Home Inc., Suffolk, is in charge of the arrangements.
