Five people were displaced by a fire that occurred Sunday afternoon in the 100 block of Oak Street.
Units from the Suffolk Department of Fire and Rescue were called to the fire about 12:30 p.m. They arrived within minutes to find heavy smoke showing from the multi-unit apartment complex.
Firefighters were able to limit the damage to the second-floor apartments, city spokeswoman Debbie George said. The fire was brought under control within 15 minutes.
The cause of the blaze is under investigation by the fire marshal’s office.
Three adults and two children were displaced and are being assisted by the Suffolk chapter of the American Red Cross.
