Hunter chips in for Builders

Sophomore Ben Hunter, a Lakeland High School alumnus, helped The Apprentice School golf team card its fourth lowest round since 1997, as team members combined for a 298 and finished second in the Builder Spring Fling No. 2 at The Woodlands on Friday.
Louisburg College won the event with a nine-over-par 285, followed by the Builders (298), Chowan University (308), Virginia Wesleyan (321), Surry CC (326) and Apprentice School Gold (337). The Friday round was the lowest for the team since September 24, 2010 when they shot a school-record low 285 at the Apprentice Fall Invitational also at The Woodlands.
Seth Nagle of Louisburg won the medalist honor with a four-under-par 65 over the 5,391-yard course. Sophomore Ben Hunter was next with a one-over-par 70 for the Builders.
