Suffolk police are asking for help from the public in identifying who was responsible for more than $10,000 in damages at the Suffolk Department of Public Works Roadway Maintenance and Operations office.
Surveillance video shows a 2001-2006 silver or gray Chrysler Sebring convertible that drove through and destroyed a sign and an automatic gate at the Carolina Road facility, according to a city press release.
The incident took place at about 8:45 p.m. on Tuesday.
The vehicle is expected to have damage to its front end and side-view mirror, and area automotive repair shops and junkyards are being asked to be on the lookout for a vehicle fitting this description, spokeswoman Diana Klink stated in the release.
Anyone with information about the incident is asked to call Crime Line at 1-888-LOCK-U-UP. Crime Line callers do not have to give their names or appear in court. Information that leads to an arrest can qualify callers for a reward of up to $1,000.
