Pass the DISCLOSE Act

To the editor:
This Sunshine Week, we need to stress the importance of disclosure and transparency in our elections. Since a series of court rulings including the infamous Citizen United v. FEC decision that allowed unlimited and often secretive money to pour into our elections, more than $74 million has been spent (and counting)!
It’s time for transparency.
We deserve to know who’s trying to influence our votes and our lawmakers. The DISCLOSE Act can make this happen by making sure we know who’s behind the money being poured into our elections and can get that information right away, so we can make informed decisions when we vote, not months after, when it’s too late.
Let’s ask Congress to pass the DISCLOSE Act.
