NANSEMOND-SUFFOLK ACADEMY
Opponent: Virginia Episcopal
Time/Place: Nansemond-Suffolk Academy/7 p.m.
Outlook: The Saints came within 10 yards of their biggest upset of the millennium last week when a late fumble cost them a potentially winning touchdown against host Atlantic Shores. If they can keep up that intensity tonight (and cut Ryan Johnson and Kyle Jett loose like they did against Windsor two weeks ago, not to mention shore up the still-not-as-reliable-as-last-season defense), they should take this one.

NANSEMOND RIVER
Opponent: Lake Taylor
Time/Place: Nansemond River High School/7 p.m.
Outlook: The Warrior offensive line was mauled last week in a 28-0 loss to Kecoughtan (albeit a potential Peninsula District contender). To win this game, against a team that charged past former state champion Heritage last week (not to mention laying a beating on River last season), the Warrior offense needs to improve – fast.

LAKELAND
Opponent: Norcom
Time/Place: Norcom High School, Chesapeake Blvd., Portsmouth/7:30 p.m.
Outlook: This is a battle of teams that have nowhere to go but up. While Lakeland was getting squashed 27-2 by Maury last week, Norcom was routed 47-0 by Phoebus (a better team than Maury). Both teams will be trying to forget about last week, which makes this an early must-win.
