Edith C. Milteer

Mrs. Edith C. Milteer, 82, of 609 Harrison St., Suffolk, died Wednesday, Oct. 1, 2003, in Obici Hospital.
A native of Suffolk, she was the daughter of the late Fred and Dora Wright.
Mrs. Milteer was a member of St. Mark’s Episcopal Church and the Episcopal Church Women. She was a graduate of Booker T. Washington High School. Mrs. Milteer also attended Norfolk State University. She was a homemaker.
She leaves to cherish her memory, her husband, Felton Milteer Sr.; three sons, Felton Milteer Jr.; and Maurice Milteer, both of Suffolk; and Andre’ Milteer of Noahville, Texas; three daughters-in-law, Dhala Milteer and Betty Milteer, both of Suffolk; and Barbara Milteer of Noahville; two brothers, Fred D. Wright of Philadelphia, Pa. and Vernon Wright of Queens, N.Y.; four brothers-in-law, Phillip Collins, Luther Milteer, Curtis Milteer, and Eugene Milteer, all of Suffolk; six sisters-in-law, Juanita Wright of Philadelphia; Alice Wright of Queens; Lynnis Collins, Elsie Milteer, Sarah Milteer, and Dorethea Milteer, all of Suffolk; 11 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; seven great-great grandchildren; two aunts, Mable Myrick and Clara Suzy, both of Suffolk; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
The funeral will be held at 10 a.m. Monday in St. Mark’s Episcopal Church. Interment will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, Chesapeake.
