Mr. CIAA honored

The Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association honored the nationally known celebrity, Mr. CIAA, Suffolk’s own Abraham Mitchell, in a special ceremony between games on Thursday at the Time Warner Cable Arena in Charlotte, N.C.

Mitchell was recognized for his 33 years of modeling homemade fashionable suits to the approval of thousands of fans during games at the tournament each year.

Each night of the tournament, Mr. CIAA steps though the stands with fans stopping him for photos. He also is shown on closed circuit TV on a jumbo screen with tracking information on the color scheme of each suit. He has been known for modeling suits made in the school colors of CIAA members.
