IMPACT Suffolk and Suffolk Faith-Based Ministries is sponsoring a Community Networking Seminar, which will take place from 1 to 6 p.m., March 5, and from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., Saturday, March 6.

Bill Emery serves as the facilitator of the events and is the founder and chairman of the Virginia Round Table providing a platform for linking the &uot;city reach teams.&uot;

Emery conducts seminars and workshops around the U.S., asking the &uot;Body of Christ&uot; (churches) to partner together in the teams. He then teaches them how to access more than $20 billion in available resources for Kingdom projects.

It is Emery’s intent to establish a Church Based Coalition within the communities across Suffolk. He will teach them how to link the groups so they can provide mutual support and regional communication excellence.

Dot Dalton, spokeswoman for IMPACT Suffolk, said the seminars will be held at King’s Fork Middle School, at King’s Fork Road just off Route 10. She also said she expects to see a large turnout because the nationally recognized minister will be the keynote speaker along with other Washington-based agency speakers.

As Dalton said, this is an excellent opportunity to learn how to write a grant proposal.

&uot;We are forming a city coalition and partners to get grant money for Suffolk’s ministries through Faith Based funds,&uot; said Dalton.

The grant-writing workshop will show groups how to describe their services, and how to describe the history of the group as well as how to present a present budget and other details in depth. Those planning to write a proposal should also come to the seminar armed with information on what is used to provide services including listing buildings, vehicles, computers, faxes, copiers, athletic fields and other items. Participants should come equipped to write a proposal.
