Willis C. Boone Sr., affectionately known as &uot;WC&uot; to family and friends, departed this life Friday, Feb. 13, 2004. He was born on Dec. 31, 1915, in Suffolk, to the late Joseph and Indie Boone.

WC was a veteran of World War II serving in the United States Army. He later retired from the Norfolk Naval Base.

WC was pre-deceased by his wife Elma V. Boone, one daughter Jeane Butts; and one great-grandson Shawn Nelson.

He leaves to cherish his loving memory two daughters India Broadnax and Toni Kimbrough (Ernest) of Virginia Beach; two sons, Willis C. Boone (Butch) Jr. (Mary) of Columbia, Mo., and Michael (L. Jean) of Kaiserslern, Germany; 16 grandchildren, 42 great-grandchildren, one great-great grandchild; and many nieces, nephews and friends.

The funeral will be held at noon Friday, Feb. 20 in T.E. Cooke-Overton Funeral Home, 405 Johnson Ave., and interment will be in Holly Lawn Cemetery.

Viewing will take place from noon to 6 p.m. Thursday in the funeral home.

The family will receive friends and assemble one hour prior to the service at 721 Kilby Ave.
