Spain shuts down Bulldogs in NSA romp

Ann-Taylor Spain pitched for her first victory of the season as Nanse-mond-Suffolk Academy stomped host Norfolk Academy 14-1 in softball on Tuesday evening. The Lady Saints host Cape Henry at 4 p.m. today.
Local faculty basketball game tonight at NRHS
The annual Lakeland vs. Nansemond River faculty basketball game will be held at 7 o’clock tonight at Nansemond River. The game is held to raise money for the two schools. Since the millennium began, the Cavalier instructors hold a 2-1 advantage, including a 62-60 win last year.
C. Faye Tillery Day to be held April 3
The Suffolk Department of Parks and Recreation is sponsoring our Annual C. Faye Tillery Family Day on April 3. All-Star teams from our local Teen, Women’s, and Church Basketball Leagues will be playing at this special event. To top it off, the Tillery Family will battle it out with the Parks & Recreation Department staff. The games will start at 2 p.m. at King’s Fork Recreation Center. SIT Basketball tourney begins May 18
The 45th Annual Suffolk Invitational Basketball Tourn-ament will be held from May 18-22, with registration deadline May 7. The cost is $250 per team, and eight teams will be allowed in the double-elimination tournament. For details, call Sean Miller at 923-3139 or Tameka Dillard at 923-2366.
