A vacant home was deemed a total loss after a fire destroyed it this weekend.

Suffolk Fire and Rescue responded to the fire in the 600 block of Cedar Street Extended about 3:37 a.m. on Saturday. The home was fully engulfed in flames, a city spokeswoman said.

The firefighters were able to bring the fire under control quickly, but not before the home was destroyed. The fire marshal’s office is investigating the cause of the fire.
