David and Nina Valdivieso, of Suffolk, announce the engagement of their daughter, Cristina, to Jacob Bain. Jacob Bain is the son of Chip Bain, of Dinwiddie, and Janice Bain, of Church Road. Cristina is a graduate of Longwood University and is currently pursuing a master’s degree at the University of North Carolina Wilmington. Jacob is also a graduate of Longwood University, which is where the two met. An October wedding is planned.
