Mrs. Eley Otelia Pearson Demiel, 108, of 3266 Old Jackson Rd., Suffolk, died July 26, 2004 in Autumn Care of Suffolk.

She was a native of Nansemond County and the widow of William L. Pearson and Isaac Demiel Sr. Educated in public schools in Nansemond County and at an early age she became a member of Gethsemane Baptist Church where she served in many ministries of the Church. She was a member of Missionary Lodge #2.

She is survived by four step daughters, Mary Chapman Esther Knight, Elizabeth Hall and Helen Williams; cousins and many step grandchildren; and the adopted Faulk family.

A funeral will be held Thursday at noon in Gethsemane Baptist Church by the Rev. Nathaniel Scates Jr. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

The body will be taken from Peebles Funeral Home to the church at 10 a.m. The family will receive friends at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Willie B. Demiel, 13468 Jackson Road.
