Rathmond Mills Collins II

Rathmond &uot;Mills&uot; Collins II, of the 8100 block of Whaleyville Blvd., Suffolk died September 19, 2004 in Obici Memorial Hospital. He was a native of Nansemond County and son of the late Linwood and Eliza Goodman Collins.
He was retired from the Norfolk Naval Shipyard where he had been employed as a rigger. He was a member of Red Oak Grove A.M.E. Church, Gates County, N.C.
He is survived by his wife, Elsie Williams Collins; two daughters, Vera Craig and her husband, Vernon of Smithfield and Catherine M. Collins of Ft. Hood, Tx.; two sons, Alvin C. Collins of Annapolis, Md. and Rathmond M. Collins III and his wife Lorie of Suffolk; three sisters, Ethel Langston of Suffolk, Margaret Picott and Mae Lawrence, both of Brooklyn, NY; five grandchildren, one great grandchild, and other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, September 22, 2004 at Red Oak Grove A.M.E. Zion Church, Gates County, North Carolina by the Rev. Edward Riddick. Interment will be in the Collins Family Cemetery, Suffolk.
The body will be taken to the church at 11 a.m. Crocker Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
