Joan S. Bradshaw, 74, died Saturday, September 25, 2004. She was a former resident of Suffolk and a longtime Peninsula resident.

She was a former employee of the Virginia Tech Co-operative Extension Service and a former dance instructor. She was also an avid gardener.

Survivors include her husband, Thomas O. Bradshaw, Jr.; two daughters, Elizabeth B. Rowe and her husband, Herbert of Topping, Va., Bonnie B. Lansing and her husband, Craig of Courtland, Va.; a son, Thomas O. Bradshaw, III of Surry, Va.; one sister, Jacqueline Orr and her husband, Harold of Newport News; one brother, Barry Shaw and his wife, Carolyn of Summerville, S.C.; five grandchildren, Shelli Robertson, Ashley Rowe, Tommy Bradshaw, Hollie Lansing, and Caitlin Lansing.

A memorial service will be conducted at 4 p.m. Thursday, September 30, 2004 at Peninsula Funeral Home by the Rev. Amanda Miller Garber. The family will receive friends from 3:00 p.m. until the time of the service. Interment will be private.
