An appreciation service for Mrs. Mable Riddick will take place on Saturday, Oct. 16 at 5 p.m. at Bethlehem United Christian Church, 312 Bute St., Suffolk.

The honoree, Mrs. Riddick, who is 92, has been a member of Bethlehem most of her life. She is presently the church’s mother and continues to actively serve in various other capacities: the Deaconess Ministry, Missionary Ministry, Pastor’s Aide, the church’s historian and until very recently, the senior choir.

Through the years, Mrs. Riddick has been very faithful and very dedicated to the church and to the body of Christ. Her involvement has not only been with the church, but throughout the community, locally as well as abroad.

Mrs. Riddick is fondly known by her family and friends as Mable, Mrs. Mable, Mother Riddick, Mother Mable, and Aunt Mable. She is extremely deserving of this past due honor, her church members believe.

Bethlehem’s pastor is the Rev. Emmanuel Myrick, Jr., who is the grandson of Mrs. Riddick.
