William D. Parker

William D. Parker, 66, of the 220 block of Stuart Street, Suffolk, died Nov. 10, 2004 at his residence.

A native of Gates County, N.C., he was the son of the late Joe W. and Dorothy Parker Riddick.

He was a retired crane operator from Newport News Shipbuilding & Dry Dock Co. He was a faithful member of Saint Paul Baptist Church, Sunbury, N.C.

He is survived by six sisters, Dorothy A. Riddick of New York, Betty R. Savage (Cleophus) of Gates, N.C., Sarah L. Scott (Lloyd) of Corapeake, N.C., Mary M. Wiggins of Philadelphia, Pa., Martha Wiggins (George) of Windsor, and Carolyn E. Thomas (Edward) of Baltimore, Md.; one brother, James M. Riddick (Mary) of Suffolk; a devoted friend, Alberta Coates of Suffolk; aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

The funeral service will be on Wednesday, Nov. 17, 2004, at 1 p.m. in First Baptist Church, Sunbury, N.C., conducted by the Rev. A.L. Lassiter. Interment will be in the church cemetery.

Crocker Funeral Home, Suffolk, is handling arrangements.
