Lonnie T. Smith

Lonnie Titus Smith, of Richmond, Virginia, began the rest he so richly deserved on Wednesday, December 1, 2004, when he passed away from this life to be with our Heavenly Father. Praise the Lord! He was 45. Lonnie is survived by his parents, Virgie and Henry Smith, Jr.; a wife, Rhonda Smith; one daughter, Loni Nicole Smith; two brothers, Phillip Blake and Sam Smith; five sisters, Barbara Smith-Ridley, Nancy Brown, Phyllis Ewing, Vickie Smith, and Donna Colander; one sister-in-law, Barbara Smith; one brother-in-law, Roland Brown and four nieces, Mysti Nichols, Brittany Fowler, Mikayla Ewing, Samantha Smith; and five nephews, Barry Nichols, Jr., Franklin Ewing, IV, Percy Alexander, Olan Colander and Devon Colander. Lonnie was a graduate of John F. Kennedy High School and was honorably discharged from the United States Army. As a civilian, he had an exemplary career in law enforcement for 20 years. Funeral arrangements are being provided by Chiles Funeral Home of Richmond, Va. A farewell service will be held at the Temple of Judah, 2120 Venable Ave., Richmond, Va on Tuesday, December 7, 2004 at 11 a.m. Immediately following the service, Lonnie will be finally laid to rest at the military cemetery located in Quantico, Virginia. The family he leaves behind looks forward to seeing him again in Heaven. In lieu of flowers, donations should be made to the Asthma Research Foundation.
