Editor, the News-Herald:

I was raised in Nansemond County, and loved going to downtown Suffolk during the Christmas Season just to look at the decorations.

I was home for Christmas this year, as went through downtown to see the decorations, and what a shock, there were none to speak of.

I know businesses have left the old downtown section, but put a little more effort and pride in what people see for Christmas.

Suffolk has a lot to be proud of:

a very old and proud city. Don’t slap her in the face with disrespect of not decking her out for Christmas.

This might get people to go back to the old downtown section and &uot;shop.&uot;

What a novel idea.
