In honor of veterans and active-duty military serving overseas, nTelos Wireless retail stores around the country have partnered with Cell Phones for Soldiers for the holidays to provide pre-paid calling cards to U.S. military personnel around the world.

“We are passionate about contributing to causes that make a difference in the communities where we live and work, and our communities are the home for thousands of military men and women who are away from their families serving our country,” said Conrad Hunter, chief operating officer of nTelos Wireless.

“We want to do our part to ensure our military personnel serving overseas have the opportunity to hear their loved ones’ voices during their deployment, and the Cell Phones for Soldiers program is a perfect opportunity for us, since customers can donate their used cell phones conveniently in our stores.”

The company is encouraging people to bring used, unwanted cell phones and cell phone accessories to any retail store. Proceeds from the collection and recycling of donated cell phones will be used to purchase pre-paid calling cards for deployed troops.

Military and their loved ones should request a free international 60-minute calling card at www.cellphonesforsoldiers.com.

“We are so thankful for the generosity of nTelos Wireless for creating this opportunity for their customers,” said Brittany Bergquist, co-founder of Cell Phones for Soldiers. “Virginia is home to many service men and women, and we hope to reach all deployed Virginia heroes with free calls home during the holidays.”
