Morning Star Baptist Church

Oakland Christian Church

Oakland Christian Church will participate in the American Cancer Society’s Daffodil Sunday at 8:45 and 11 a.m. on March 20. The altar will be adorned with bunches of daffodils and pots of minature daffodils. The daffodil is the American Cancer Society’s flower of hope. The daffodils will be dedicated to all those who have been affected by cancer. For more information call the church at 255-4353.

On March 24 Maundy Thursday at 7:30 p.m. the office of Tenebrae with Holy Communion at Oakland Christian Church. Easter pie orders may be picked up between 3 and 7 p.m. On March 25, Good Friday at noon a Service will be held at Wesley Chapel United Methodist Church. Easter pie orders may be picked up between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. and on March 27, Easter Sunday at 6:30 a.m. a Sunrise Service on the grounds of St. John’s Episcopal Church. Immediately following the service, there will be time for fellowship and refreshments immediately following in the Parish Hall. At 8:45 a.m., Worship service and Flowering of the Cross at Oakland Christian and at 11 a.m. there will be a Worship service at Oakland Christian. The Patorial Concern Ministry will present &uot;The Gospel Star Awards&uot; at 4 p.m. on Sunday, March 20 featuring such stars as: Smokie Notful, Yolanda Adams, Rizen and John P. Kee and others.

Impact Suffolk

The city-wide prayer meeting sponsored by Impact Suffolk will be held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, March 23, at Balm of Gilead Baptist Church, 3731 Whitemarsh Road.
