Israeli-Palestinian Relations topic of discussion at Suffolk Presbyterian

The Suffolk Presbyterian Church will be holding a public discussion forum entitled &uot;Israeli-Palestinian Relations and Recent Actions Taken by the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.)&uot; from 8:30 a.m. to noon today.
Among other things, the event will discuss the recent events that led to the development of Isreal’s 216th Assembly of the Presbyterian Church in 2004, making it the first major Christian denomination to explore the financial benefits of the country’s occupation of the West Bank, Gaza Strip and East Jerusalem.
The Rev. Dr. Seldon Harris, pastor of King’s Grant Presbyterian Church in Virginia Beach, will give a historical overview, followed by a presentation of the Assembly’s findings. A video entitled &uot;Steps Toward Peace in Israel and Palestine&uot; will be shown.
It is free to the public and refreshments will be served. The church is located at 410 N. Broad St.
