Funeral Wednesday for fallen officer

Funeral services for Officer William A. &uot;Drew&uot; Henley, who collapsed and died after chasing a suspect early Saturday, are being held this week.

Henley, 33, died of a medical condition, about one hour after apprehending the man he was pursuing on Webb Street. The three-year veteran of the Suffolk Police Department is survived by his wife and four children.

A private family viewing will be held from 6 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at Harrell and Hill Funeral Home, 2460 Pruden Blvd. The open viewing will follow from 7 to 8 p.m.

Visitation will be held at 10 to 11 a.m. Wednesday at Westminster Reformed Presbyterian Church, 3488 Godwin Blvd. The funeral will begin at 11 a.m.

A private burial will be held in Asheville, N.C.

A memorial fund for Henley’s family has been established at SunTrust Bank. Donations can be made in the name of Christine E. Henley.
