Wildcat major league prospect Justin Upton led the offensive attack, going 4-for-4 with a homer, two triples, and a double.

Great Bridge got out to a 7-0 lead after an inning and a half off Lakeland starting pitcher John Raspberry.

In the bottom of the third with two out, Chad Cross on third, and Dan Cross on first, a Gray Pope homer over the straight away center field fence cut the lead to 7-3, but it would be the closest that Lakeland would get.

The Wildcat slugging picked right back up in the fourth and fifth innings, scoring 13 runs in the two frames, and going through four more Cavalier pitchers in the process.

Lakeland picked up two unearned runs in their half of the fourth as David and Steve Morean scored, and Raspberry got another unearned run in the fifth.

On the softball field, Lakeland and Great Bridge were scoreless through four and a half innings when the game was suspended because of darkness.

The game will be finished at Great Bridge April 29. Lindsay Kelly held the Lady Wildcats to three hits during five innings in the circle.

The Cavalier baseball and softball travel to Western Branch on Friday.
