Maria Carmen Gomez Hardison, 75, of Suffolk, died May 3, 2005. A native of Guatemala in Central America and the widow of James Melvin Hardison Sr. and a member of Open Door Church.

Survivors include a daughter, Lisa H. Blizzard of Suffolk; a son, Anthony J. Hardison of Charlotte, N.C.; nine grandchildren; and her sister, Pepa Rivera.

A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, May 5, 2005 with Pastors Tony and Kathy Peaks officiating. The interment will be in Holly Lawn Cemetery. Friends may join the family from 7 to 8 p.m. today at Parr Funeral Home and other times at the residence of Lisa H. Blizzard.
