Men’s Prayer Breakfast at Faith Temple

At 9 a.m. today, Faith Temple Ministries (Apostolic), 476 Wellons St., will have a Men’s Prayer Breakfast. Elder Monzell Huff from End Time United Church, Norfolk, will be the speaker. A donation of $10 per person is requested. Call the church office for additional information at 923-2735.

Faith Temple’s Men’s Day will be held at 11:15 a.m. Sunday, May 15. The theme is &uot;It’s about to be a shift,&uot; Matthew 11:12. Elder Lawrence Brown from Summerville, S.C. will be the speaker.

Family and Friends at Greater First Baptist

Greater First Baptist Church, Orlando, will have their annual Family and Friends Day Celebration during the regular worship service at 11 a.m. Sunday. The mass choir will provide the music and the combined ushers will serve.

Special tributes will be given to mothers. A picnic will be held on the church grounds after service.

The Rev. Dr. Henry G. Baker, senior pastor, will deliver the Mother’s Day message.

Services at New Mt. Zion Holiness

Sunday School begins at 10 a.m. at New Mt. Zion Holiness Church, 2213 Georgia Ave. Morning worship starts at 11:30 a.m. Sunday is Men’s Day with guest speaker Minister Angelo Brown from Strong Tower Ministry in Woodbridge.

Prayer meetings and Bible Study are 7:30 p.m. every Wednesday night.

Spring Revival at Allen Grove

Gospel Harmoneers at New Calvary

The annual Mother’s Day Worship and Communion Ser-vice will take place at 11 a.m. Sunday at Chapel Grove United Church of Christ located at 7366 W. Blackwater Road in Windsor.

The program will feature perspectives on motherhood from a single mother, grandmother and mother of yesteryear.

Minister of music to be honored

Gates of Heaven COGIC, 112 Beech St., will honor its minister of music and organist, Charles Brown. A musical will be held at 7:30 p.m. at the church on Friday, May 13, and at 6 p.m. Saturday, May 14.

Women’s Day at Lakeview

At 11 a.m. Sunday, May 15, Lakeview Missionary Baptist Church, 635 Brook Ave., will hold its annual Women’s Day program with the theme of &uot;Women Working for God one day at a time.&uot;

The Rev. Tracy S. Eley, of Tabernacle Christian United Church of Christ, Suffolk, and the Rev. Sandra Freeman of Pleasant Shade Baptist of Franklin, will be the special guests.

Calendar pageant at Mt. Sinai Baptist

At Mt. Sinai Baptist Church, 6100 Holy Neck Road, the Christian Women’s Ministry will sponsor a Calendar Pageant at 4 p.m. Sunday, May 15. The months of the year will be showcased with various talents.

Missions Day, Main Street United Methodist

Main Street United Methodist Church is sponsoring a Missions Day in Petersburg on Saturday, May 21. At 7:30 a.m. participants will meet at the church and return by 3 p.m. A stop will be made on the way for breakfast. Those attending should bring a bag lunch (drinks are provided). Women’s Day at Metropolitan Baptist

The Women of Metropolitan Baptist Church, 125 County St., will be celebrating their annual Woman’s Day, beginning at 7 p.m. Wednesday, May 18, with a prayer service portraying the &uot;Women of the Bible&uot; and ladies night.

At 9 a.m. Saturday, May 21, the women will be having a Fellowship Breakfast in the educational department of the church. Shirley Wade will bring the message of &uot;Christian Women Facing the Future with Faith.&uot;

The climax of Women’s Day at Metropolitan Baptist will end at 11 a.m. on Sunday, May 22 with the Rev. Sherleen Branch as our guest Minister delivering the message, in reference to Christian Women Facing the Future with Faith.
