Women’s Day at Gethsemane

Gethsemane Baptist Church, 1656 Copeland Road, will be celebrating their Annual Women’s Day at 11 a.m. on Sunday, May 22. The Rev. Rainbow Tea at New Calvary

At New Calvary Baptist Church, 220 N. Sixth St., the Women’s Fellowship will sponsor a Rainbow Tea in the East Suffolk Community Center at 4 p.m. Saturday, May 21. Pastor Ruby Turner and the Jones Singer of Newport News will render the music. There is a $15 donation for the event. Food will also be served. Call 934-2229 for more information. Homecoming and memorial Service

Bethlehem Christian Church, 1549 Holland Road, will hold its Homecoming and Memorial service on Sunday, May 15. Early service is at 8:45 a.m., Sunday School at 9:45 a.m. and the memorial service begins at 10:45 a.m. with a special program in the cemetery afterwards for veterans buried at Bethlehem. City-to-city women’s conference

Sista Chosen Ministries will be having a city-to-city women’s conference entitled &uot;We Will Survive 2005&uot; and a play entitled, &uot;Brotha Chosen.&uot; The cities included in this tour will be Richmond, June 7-10; Norfolk, Sept. 7-10; and the Outer Banks, Dec. 7-10. All events take place Wednesday through Saturday. The conference speakers are Prophetess Freda Y. Cross, El Bethel and Rose of Sharon Worship Centers, Prophetess Tammy Alexander, Dominion and Glory Ministries, of Richmond, Evangelist Kymberly D. Johnson, New Macedonia Baptist Church of Riverdale, Ga., and Evangela Watford, Suffolk. There will be a choir chosen per city.

Sista Chosen is looking for men and women interested in acting, 18 years and older, who will be free to travel. These individuals must be kingdom minded, devoted, determined, easy to get along with, and most of all be serious about working toward the completion of God’s plan.
