Suffolk delays and cancellations

SUFFOLK — The National Weather Service issued a winter weather advisory for the City of Suffolk and surrounding areas beginning Tuesday, January 21 until Wednesday, Jan. 22 at 7:00 a.m.
- Suffolk Public Schools will be delayed 2 hours Wednesday. All after school activities are canceled for Tuesday evening.
- Nansemond-Suffolk Academy has canceled all after-school activities, practices, and games today, Tuesday, Jan. 21, 2025. Extended Care on both campuses and Beyond the Bell will close at 4:30 p.m. today to allow NSA families time to travel home safely.
NSA will also be closed on Wednesday, January 22, and all after-school activities, practices and games have been canceled. Please travel safely this afternoon, and enjoy the first snow day tomorrow.
- After-school programming for Suffolk Parks & Recreation Joint Use Recreation Centers (Kings Fork, Creekside, Northern Shores, Oakland, Booker T. Washington, Mack Benn, Jr.) will operate as normal Tuesday, January 21, 2025.
- All Recreation Centers, including Joint Use Recreation Centers, and the Suffolk Art Gallery will close at 6 p.m. Tuesday, January 21.
- All Suffolk Parks and Recreation classes and programming, including Youth Basketball, Cheer, and Futsol are canceled today, Tuesday, January 21.
- All Suffolk Public Libraries will close at 5 p.m. today, Tuesday, January 21, and all scheduled programming is canceled.
- Suffolk Transit advises no change in their operating schedule at this time.
