Rachel G. Richards

Rachel G. Richards- Suffolk, VA passed away January 18, 2025 at her home.

She was born August 11, 1932 to the late Hurley R. and Ruby F. Gray in Hertford, NC.

She is preceded in death by her husband James W. Richards Jr., sons; Donald E. Richards, David E. Richards, and granddaughter Erica L. Richards.

She leaves behind her daughters; Donna R. Leigh, Dianne R. Arrington (Gene), Dawn R. Lester (Danny), sons; Dana E. Richards, Daryn E. Richards, 14 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, and 1 great great grandchild.

She worked at Nansemond Convalescent Center before she retired to take care of several of her grandchildren.

She was a member of First Baptist Church on Main Street and attended Radiant Life Church.

She enjoyed crocheting, reading romance novels, word search puzzles, watching game shows, and celebrations with her family.

A visitation will be held Friday, January 24, 2025 from 6:00-7:00pm at R.W. Baker & Co. Funeral Home and Crematory Downtown Chapel (509 W. Washington St.). A funeral service will be held Saturday, January 25, 2025 at 1:00pm at the same location. Burial will follow at Holly Lawn Cemetery.
