SFD responds to residential fire

SUFFOLK – Suffolk Fire & Rescue responded to the 100 block of Church Street for a residential structure fire Friday morning. Emergency Communications dispatched the incident at 8:25 a.m. with the first units arriving on scene at 8:27 a.m.
First crews on scene arrived to find heavy smoke and fire in the rear of the structure, with all occupants safely out of the building. The fire was extinguished at 8:53 a.m. Suffolk Police provided traffic control. No injuries reported by firefighters or occupants. The home sustained smoke and fire damage, and The American Red Cross is assisting the displaced occupants. The Fire Marshal’s Office is investigating the cause and origin of the fire.
