Evelyn Branton Clements

Evelyn Branton Clements, 90, of Suffolk, Va, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, January 1, 2025. Evelyn was born in Whaleyville, Va on December 7, 1934 to Grover and Dolly Branton. She married Fred Clements on September 3, 1955. They had two sons, Brian and Mark. Evelyn enjoyed being a homemaker and spending time with her family. She worked for Planters and the Suffolk Public School System and was also a member of Whaleyville Methodist Church.

She is preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Fred; her brothers, Grover C. Branton Jr, Holmes Branton, Ralph Branton, and Charles L. Branton; and sisters, Susie Holding and Ruth Outland.

Evelyn is survived by her sons, Brian F. Clements and Mark B. Clements and his wife Lisa; grandchildren, Taylor B. Brown and her husband Ethan, Austin M. Clements and his girlfriend Maddie, and 1 great grandchild, Ryker K. Brown.

A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, January 7, 2025 at 2:00 PM at R.W. Baker & Co. Funeral Home and Crematory, 509 W. Washington Street, Suffolk, Va 23434 officiated by Pastor Ricky Garza. The family will receive friends for a time of visitation one hour prior to the service. Burial to follow the service at Holly Lawn Cemetery.
