A Suffolk woman has been charged with arson according to the Suffolk Fire Marshal’s Office.
Charlene Marie Parr, 50, of Suffolk, was charged with “attempted arson of a dwelling” and “threat to burn or bomb,” and is currently being held at the Western Tidewater Regional Jail.
Suffolk Fire & Rescue and Suffolk Police responded to the 300 Block of N. Main St. for a residential structure fire at 12:17 p.m., on Christmas Day.
Crews arrived to find a two–story residential structure with nothing showing. Crews entered the structure and found that a set of curtains had been set on fire. The fire had been extinguished prior to arrival.
A search of the interior of the structure found no other fire.
The fire which occurred was limited to the curtains, and there was no other damage to the structure.
