SFD battle fire on Pruden Blvd.

SUFFOLK – Suffolk Fire & Rescue responded to the 3000 Block of Pruden Blvd. for a residential structure fire. Suffolk Emergency Communications Dispatch Center dispatched the incident at 1:35 p.m.

Engine 6 arrived at 1:39 p.m. to find heavy smoke and fire showing from a shed attached to a mobile home, with extension into the residence.  Engine 6 and Ladder 6 initiated fire attack to the shed and the interior of the residence.   Searches were performed and two cats were rescued from the home.  Heavy fire and smoke damage occurred to the shed and throughout the mobile home.

Two adults were displaced and are receiving assistance from the American Red Cross.  The cause and origin of the fire is being investigated by the Fire Marshal’s Office.  No injuries to occupants or firefighters.
