Keep Suffolk Beautiful has announced that its next Recycling Drive and Tire Amnesty Day is set for Saturday, Nov. 9 from 9 a.m. to noon at 800 Carolina Rd.

The press release details that the free event is aimed to help Suffolk residents recycle and dispose of items they may have accumulated in garages, yards and homes in a responsible manner. Attendees are encouraged to bring food and toiletry donations. Marking one of KSB’s two annual Tire Amnesty Days, the event offers a convenient way for citizens to drop off their residential tires. Only tires without rims and no larger than 22 inches will be accepted. Likewise, a valid Suffolk ID is required.

According to the release, the previous Recycling Drive and Tire Amnesty Day held on May 2024 successfully collected “nearly 20,000 lbs. of recyclables, electronics, wares, and clothes” as well as “over 300 lbs. of food donations and 1,065 tires.” The KSB event also complements its Adopt Program and community cleanups, which has seen over 75,000 lbs. of litter removed from streets and waterways this year.
