SUFFOLK – Suffolk Police are continuing to investigate an attempted murder-suicide that occurred on Monday, Oct. 21, 2024, in the 300 block of Linden Avenue.
Officers responding to a RAVEN gunshot alert located two young children in distress on the porch of a residence. Officers approached the residence and found a woman suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. Officers immediately rendered aid to that woman, who was transported to a local hospital by Suffolk Fire & Rescue. She remains in critical, but stable condition.
Officers also located Frenando Kapri Holland, 30, of Suffolk, inside the house. Mr. Holland was deceased and had suffered a single gunshot wound. The investigation has revealed that Mr. Holland shot the female victim, with whom he was in a relationship. Mr. Holland then shot himself.
Mr. Holland, the female victim, and the juveniles were all residents of the home where the incident occurred. The juveniles are safe and staying with family members.
October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month. The Suffolk Police Department would like to remind our community that there are resources available to assist victims of domestic violence. A list of local resources is attached.
