The King’s Fork girls volleyball team defeated Nansemond River on Oct. 15 in a five-set thriller. King’s Fork won the match after dropping the first set and trading wins in the following three sets. The match’s final score was: 21-25, 25-23, 27-25, 20-25, and 18-16.
Cristina Coombs had a strong game for King’s Fork with 30 assists, 2 kills, 4 digs, 1 block and 6 aces. Shayla Nyguyen also played well, recording 11 kills, 3 assists, 8 digs, and 1 ace.
