Robert T. Barnhill, 81, died October 2, 2024 surrounded by his family. Born October 1, 1943 in Suffolk, VA, he was the son of the late Luther and Lucy Barnhill. He served in the Navy during the Vietnam war, and was an electrical engineer for Dominion Virginia Power for 25 years. He was an active member of the Izaak Walton League for many years, and served as an Assistant Scoutmaster with Troop 10 of the Boy Scouts.

 

He was preceded in Heaven by his first wife, Lynn Barnhill. Survivors include his wife Nancy, son Robert Jr. and his wife Shana, daughter Sarah and her husband Neil, stepson Michael Lupino and his wife Kasey, and grandchildren Ainsley, Liam, Ginny, and Emma.

 

The family will receive friends on Thursday, October 10, 2024 from 6:00-7:30pm at R.W. Baker & Co. Funeral Home & Crematory, Downtown Suffolk Chapel . Funeral services will be conducted at 1pm on Friday at the funeral home, with burial to follow at Holly Lawn Cemetery.
