Victims identified in Thursday night shooting

SUFFOLK, VA – Following the notification of next of kin, Suffolk Police advise that the victims in Thursday night’s shooting incident are William Eugene Goodman Jr., 37, of Suffolk and Demonte Lamont Tillery, 30, of Suffolk.

In addition, two adult males and one adult female were transported to a local hospital following this incident. They sustained serious, but non-life threatening injuries.

Chief Buie extends his heartfelt sympathy to the families of the victims. Our thoughts and prayers are with them at this time.

Previous – On Thursday, September 12, 2024, at approximately 11:25 p.m. Suffolk Emergency Communications Center received a call regarding a shooting in the 800 block of East Washington Street.

Upon arrival, Suffolk Police officers found multiple individuals shot. Suffolk Fire & Rescue responded to the scene and provided emergency medical assessment and treatment. One adult male was pronounced deceased at the scene. Another adult male succumbed his injuries at a local hospital. Three other individuals were transported to a local hospital and are currently receiving treatment.
