Ann Cambridge Callihan Hines Greene, born May 30, 1933, in Ashland, KY, passed away on September 2, surrounded by her devoted children. She was a resident of Atlantic Shores in Virginia Beach, VA, and a former resident of Suffolk, VA and Fort Myers, FL.

Ann was a graduate of Ashland High School and The College of William & Mary. She was a member of Kappa Gamma Sorority at William & Mary. She earned her Master’s Degree from Old Dominion University.

In Suffolk, VA, Ann was a member of Main Street Methodist Church where she served on the board and was President of the Providence Bible Class and a member of Circle 4. She served on the board of the church pre-school and was also a teacher. Ann was active with the Louise Obici Hospital Auxiliary, Suffolk Cancer Society, Suffolk Magazine Club, Nansemond-Suffolk Historical Society and was a volunteer at Main Street Station. She was a board member of the William & Mary South of the James Alumni Society. She was a member of the Nansemond River Golf Course and the Franklin Country Club. She was a board member of Suffolk Art League, and enjoyed doing pastel art. Ann enjoyed spending time with her extraordinary family, travel, playing golf, exercising and her great hobby of genealogy.

In Fort Myers, FL, she was a member of the Myer Lee Country Club, an active volunteer with the Food Pantry, a member of the American Association of University Women and Cypress Lake United Methodist Church.

Ann was predeceased by her parents Catherine Louise Stapf Callihan Cole and Cambridge Milton Callihan, stepfather Merrill Williams Cole, sister Carolyn Callihan Burns, her beloved first husband Lloyd Quinby Hines, Jr, and second husband Paul David Greene.

Ann is survived by her children Marc Cambridge Hines, Sr (Pam), Bruce Quinby Hines, Daphne Stapf Hines Mayhew (Craig) and Ann Caroline Hines Batten (Curt); her grandchildren Cambridge Hines, Jr (Katie), Finley Lambert (Josh), Quinby Hines, Marshall Mayhew (Olivia), Penn Mayhew (Ellie), Raike Batten and Hines Batten; great grandchildren Tripp and Frannie Hines and Caroline, Scottie and Ford Lambert; and special friend Will Crane.

The family wishes to extend a heartfelt thank you to the team that took care of Ann with grace and love: Nurse Paula, Nurse Cookie, Nurse Tonya, Steve the Navigator and caring staff from Harborway Atlantic Shores; LaCore and staff from Shenelle Care and caring staff from Westminster Hospice.

A graveside service will be held at 2 PM on September 13, 2024, at Cedar Hill Cemetery in Suffolk, Va. Arrangements by R.W. Baker & Co. Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Main Street United Methodist Church or The College of William & Mary Alumni Fund.
