Suffolk City Council accepted a personal property donation for Suffolk Fire and Rescue during their council meeting on Wednesday, August 7 at City Hall.
As part of their consent agenda, council accepted a donation of a 2024 Ford Expedition vehicle from the Western Tidewater Community Services Board valued at $75,479.29. The vehicle will be used to both support the city’s Medical Access and Resources for the Community Alert Mandate (MARCUS) program as well as support SFR in their responses to behavioral health incidents. City Manager Albert S. Moor II provided further details during the meeting.
“Adoption of the ordinance will increase the fleet expenditures in the Department of Fire and Rescue by approximately $2,000 annually for fuel and maintenance costs, which will be reimbursed by the Western Tidewater Community Service Board,” Moor said.
