Continuing the festivities for the City of Suffolk’s 50 anniversary celebration, Suffolk Transit is currently holding Fare-Free Saturdays, offering complimentary fares on Saturdays. The program is set to continue until the end of the year.
Residents who use or plan to use the bus are encouraged to download the ETA SPOT mobile app, which provides real-time arrival predictions while also helping residents know exactly where the bus is and when it will arrive at a stop. The essential tool also assists with route planning and sends important alerts directly from Suffolk Transit. Transit Manager Maria Ptakowski talked about the program’s mission in a statement.
“This initiative reflects our commitment to enhancing accessibility and convenience for our city’s residents, and aims to encourage more residents to use public transportation, where they will find it reliable, comfortable, and safe,” Ptakowski said.
