Suffolk Center for Cultural Arts Announces 19th Performance Season

The Suffolk Center for Cultural Arts has announced its 19th Performance Season, featuring a lineup designed to engage and entertain audiences of all ages. Returning by popular demand are “Vinyl Radio” and “Masters of Soul,” promising a nostalgic journey through music. The season will offer a diverse array of performances, catering to both families and adults.

Tickets for the new season will be available to the public at 10 a.m. on Thursday, Aug. 1, 2024.

The Main Stage at the Birdsong Theater will host four adult performances and two family-friendly shows. The season opens on Sept. 27 with “The Purple Piano,” starring Marshall Charloff in a one-man tribute to Prince’s music directly from his Las Vegas residency.

On Dec. 21, 2024, “Masters of Soul: A Motown Christmas” will return for a festive celebration of classic hits from the 60s through the 90s.

“Vinyl Radio” will take the stage on Jan. 11, 2025, featuring Chuckatuck native Tim Buppert along with Ron Wallace, Ronnie Kimball, and Bill Worrell. The performance will showcase the best of 70s rock-n-roll.

On April 25, 2025, the Suffolk Center will honor what would have been Ella Fitzgerald’s 107th birthday with “Ella: The Early Years.” Amanda King will deliver a tribute performance celebrating Fitzgerald’s legendary music.

For younger audiences, the Hurrah Players will present two classic musicals: “Cinderella” on October 19, 2024, and “Frozen Jr.” on March 15, 2025.

A new performance series, “Downstairs at the Center,” will offer intimate events for adult patrons, including a Masquerade Murder Mystery Dinner Theater on Sept. 21. The series will also feature comedy shows, dueling pianos, and a jazz and martini night.

The Suffolk Center has introduced ticket packages for the season, providing early planning options and best prices. Visitors can also enjoy dinner and drinks at the new restaurant, Arts Kitchen, located on the Center’s first floor.
