Mrs. Ellen M. Brown was called home to be with our Lord and Savior on Thursday, June 13, 2024. Born on May 27, 1932 to Johnnie and Annie Pebbles. She was married to the late Fred T. Brown Jr.

Ellen’s legacy is one of love, service, and community. She leaves behind a city profoundly impacted by her kindness and dedication.

She leaves behind her seven children, Claude Kenneth, Dennis Fields, Reginald Thomas, Shelia Margaret, Terrance Fitzgerald, Ellen Shawkeria, and Carmen Buttler.   Her sons’-in-laws, Anthony Cherry (Shelia) Edwin Pulido (Ellen) and Her daughter-in-law, Terri Bentley – Brown (Terrance).  She also leaves 10 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and a host of other family and Friends.  

A visitation will take place from 5pm until 7pm on Wednesday at T.E. Cooke- Overton Funeral Home. A funeral service will take place at Noon on Thursday, June 20, 2024 at Metropolitan Baptist church and she will be entombed at Carver Memorial Cemetery.
