Suffolk man pronounced dead in Saturday shooting

Police say 62-year-old Gary Lee Boykins was pronounced dead after being brought to a Suffolk Fire and Rescue station with a gunshot wound.
According to a media release from the Suffolk Police Department, officers were dispatched to Suffolk Fire Station 3 after a citizen brought a Boykins to the location with a gunshot wound.
Boykins was being treated by Suffolk Fire/EMS personnel when officers arrived, where he pronounced dead.
According to the release, a preliminary investigation has revealed the incident occurred at a residence in the 800 block of Old Dill Road.
No suspect information is available at this time. The investigation is ongoing, and no further details have been released.
