Lakeland takes care of Kings Fork on the road

The Lakeland Cavaliers took care of Kings Fork 15-5 on Thursday.

In the opening inning, the Cavaliers took an early lead when Landon Patton’s ground out brought in a run. Responding swiftly, Nathan Randolph’s double for the King’s Fork Bulldogs leveled the score at one.

The Cavaliers pulled ahead again in the following frame, with quality baserunning from Josiah Joyner and a series of hits from Bobby Knight, Patton, Ben Griffin, and Carson Brinkley, the Cavs put up six runs.

Maintaining their momentum, Lakeland added to the lead in the third inning courtesy of Knight’s double before exploding for seven runs in the fourth, powered by a flurry of hits and aggressive baserunning.

At the plate, Lakeland went 11 for 28, while Kings Fork went a 4 for 22, with seven strikeouts.
